Former Strikeforce middleweight champion, Jake Shields has tonight confirmed to MMABay that he’s finally put pen to paper on a multi-fight contract with the UFC after weeks of negotiating.
The fighter also confirmed that he would be dropping down to his more natural fighting weight of 170 pounds after defeating the likes of Dan Henderson and Jason “Mayhem” Miller at middleweight.
As MMABay EXCLUSIVELY reported earlier in the week, the talented grappler will first take on Danish all-rounder, Martin Kampmann in his first fight inside the octagon, a fight that will go down at UFC 121 on October 23rd in Anaheim, California.
