The middleweight contest between Michael “The Count” Bisping and Wanderlei” The Axe Murderer” Silva may not have been as straight forward as many first thought after it appears the Brit outscored the Brazilian in the second round of their fight.

Whilst you can clearly give round one to Bisping and round three to Silva, the whole fight hinges on what turned out to be a very interesting second round between the pair. The two big moments in the round went to Silva (sweeping the leg from under the Brit and locking up the guillotine) but apart from that it was all Bisping, scoring with two well timed takedowns and a number of crisp punches which left Silva’s face a mess by the end of the round.  read more »

UFC middleweight, Michael “The Count” Bisping has once again said that one of his biggest inspirations going into tonight’s showdown with Wanderlei Silva is his friend and Wolfslair team mate, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and he says he owes the American a beer or two.

Speaking via MMAWeekly.com, Bisping said:

“It really says a lot about the guy, he's been busy filming the A-Team movie, and he's just finished that and he's come out here. I really do owe that guy a beer shall we say. He's given me a lot of tactical insight, helping out with a lot of situation drills to help me with certain circumstances that he thinks that I might be in the fight, and obviously as somebody as experienced as Rampage being in your corner, you can't buy that," Bisping commented. "He's just fantastic to have in your camp.”  read more »

Speaking via the Telegraph.co.uk, Bisping said:

“I was listening to Wanderlei talk about how he’s gonna use the Dan Henderson blueprint to beat me and knock me out… well I am going to use the Dan Henderson blueprint to knock him out. Henderson knocked him out just as badly as he did me. Wanderlei can tell me all about getting knocked out, especially by Henderson.  read more »

- BISPING SAYS SILVA HAS PLENTY TO WORRY ABOUT
Tuesday, February 16, 2010 - by Damon Martin - MMAWeekly.com

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Making adjustments and realizing mistakes can be the difference between a champion and a challenger.

Following a devastating loss to Dan Henderson in July last year, Michael Bisping realized that he had to make a few changes. Now as he gets ready for his UFC 110 co-main event showdown against Wanderlei Silva, he feels as ready as ever for a fight against the legendary Brazilian striker.

Heading down to Australia two weeks prior to the fight, Bisping feels like he's done everything right to step into the cage and defeat Silva this weekend. Breaking down the fight, the British born brawler sees a somewhat similar style between Silva and Chris Leben, a fighter Bisping has already defeated.  read more »
